The story of the Bird

One day I was sewing. I had music playing and was making a dress. Suddenly I heard a thump. And then a noise that sounded like someone was trying to break into my house.

I froze. My sewing machine clicked to a stop.

Another thump. Some scratching. The frantic chitterlings of a bird. Who was stuck in our wood stove?

Then my husband helped him (her?) escape! Yay.

And I filmed it.

Also, if you think I sound weird...I also think I sound weird. Do I really sound like that? O.o

  1. Oh man! And, based on deanna's comment--we had a bat in our house last night! Second one this year!

  2. No, you don't sound weird - you sound like Carolyn! :)

Actually, when we hear our own voices, everyone I've talked to about it thinks their own voice sounds weird. I just had an interview with WSLS out of Roanoke yesterday, and I think my voice sounds weird as well...

Oh, and congrats to Mr. Adventure for picking up a bird with his hands - that's something I have no desire to do! :)

  3. Haha, I liked when Brian was like, "I hate it when that happens!" as the bird flew out of the stove. Also, great flags you have hanging!

  4. and he caught it with his bare hands! that happened to me once - it was a grackle - oh their beaks are pointy and sharp. i always think i sound weird on video too : )

  5. Lol love how B has tags on his new pants there and you sound fine. I know I sound like a 12 year old when recorded.

  6. "omg at least it wasn't a bat and you didn't get rabies and foam around your mouth!!" that was my reaction after I watcdhed your video lol

Thank you so much for commenting! Your thoughts bring smiles to my face :)
