Guess My Due Date!

On July 1, 2015 I will be considered full term! I'm so excited to meet my little one, and I thought it would be fun to run a giveaway around my due date.  The giveaway is for a $20 Target giftcard that will be sent by e-mail. Anyone can enter, and the contest will run until I pop! You can guess the same day as someone else, just pick a different time. The person who guesses closest to whenever Rueben makes his entrance (err, exit?) wins!

So, I will admit to being a bit of a book snob. I have six shelves worth of slim, attractive volumes, all ordered neatly by author and category. Only, now I have three shelves. And I'm drowning in books.

I really need to get rid of some! If you like fantasy/science fiction, and would like me to send you a box of books, let me know! Because I will be more then glad to part with some of mine!

Tie Dye Fail

So, you remember that giveaway I did last week? Well, the winner asked for a dress dyed purple! But for some reason, the cotton that I used was too thin, and the whole dress turned purple. Not dyed, just purple.

So I tried to dye it again, thinking that something was wrong with me. It turned a deeper shade of purple. And the lace turned a different color. Yay? So not what I wanted to happen...

Then I did what every artist probably does in moments like this: I pouted. And whined. And ate hummus. Then I played a video game for four hours. In my underwear.

After my tantrum, I feel better and am going to tackle the dress again! *I really hope it works this time* I think it was the thinness of the cotton, but I don't know. (Any ideas, you guys??)

Oh, and this weeks winner is Kathleen! I've already e-mailed you, Kathleen, and I can't wait to create a dress for you! I'm going to use thick cotton so there are no more tie dye mistakes. Well, my husband told me the purple color is really pretty, so I will probably sale these in my shop, since they are fine. Just not tie dyed.

Knitting GIVEAWAY!

So I picked up this thing called knitting. Forever I thought it was complex and didn't even try--but my roommate knits and crochets EVERYTHING and ANYTHING and so I decided to give it a whirl. Knitting is fun! And surprisingly not too hard! So far I have made a very crooked bookmark and half a scarf...my knitting as of now is lumpy and distorted somewhat, but it is knitting. And I am proud =P

I know if I keep practicing, I'll be creating wonderful items soon.

That brings me to what today's post is about! I am going to do my first giveaway today. I am going to be mailing a copy of  "New Knits on the Block: A guide to knitting what kids really want".

I picked up this book when I began my knitting journey, and its a little too advanced for me (Its about lvl 1-2, I am lvl 0 so far) so I thought it would be wonderful to give away on my blog! It is a brand new book, ready for someone to knit away with.
