My Room

I recently moved! Here are some shots of my new room.

And yes, I am sleeping on an air mattress.

My favorite thing in the room is this curtain that is over my closet. I just bought a shower rod and hung a pretty sheer fabric on it. I love how it hides the mess!

Recently I have been churning over some ideas for the blog.
  1. I want to do a weekly vintage/handmade giveaway or blog fashionista swap. I would love to see how you guys would style things differently.
  2. I need to think of some interesting tutorials. I'm thinking about doing a full "how-to" knit DIY walkthrough...does anyone have any ideas?
  3. The hardest thing is thinking of ideas people want to see, questions that they need answered. I know I am getting about 20 views a week, but how do I get people to comment? To hang around? And share with their friends and me? Thats the real question.
Hope you guys are having a great start to fall! My October 1st post will be a surprise fashion-blog swap with Beth! I'm going to mail her this awesome dress and see how she styles it verses my own style idea. If you guys wanna do a swap with me just e-mail me and I would be MORE then happy to!

Into the Woods

I did a quick photo-shoot in PA last week! I loved the trees in State College...so tall!
And that concludes my state college adventures! What kind of adventure should I go on next?

Noted Differences from VA to PA

While I was briefly in PA I noticed some "irregularities" from what I am used to in my home state of Virginia. I thought I would share them with you guys!
First off, they label their turn signals. As in, when I was driving, I saw their left turn signal had a sign next to it that says "Left Turn Signal". Same with the right one. I wonder why they do this?
In addition to having only one license plate on their cars, the people of PA do not know what a Kroger or a Food Lion is. They have Weis and Giants. Odd.
There are a ton of amish and mennonites in PA, and therefore they sell something called "Cup Cheese". Don't ask me to describe it--you have to try it for yourself. Preferably with potato chips (or so says Brian).
Last but not least, PA is home to the cookie outlet. Where you can buy cookies! Yay!

Can you guys think of any other difference between the states? I'd love to hear them!

Food at Penn State

I was only in PA for a few days, and so I realize I am not an expert on their culinary skills; but I did get to sample some amazing dishes while traveling!
For lunch we went to a Thai restaurant. The Thai food was by far my favorite. I had never tried any cuisine from this particular country; so my palette was greatly entertained! I LOVE spicy foods, and the Thai restaurant far exceeded my expectations. I ate the green curry with brown rice.

For dinner I took myself to a Vietnamese noodle shop. I have never been to a noodle restaurant before, but I was excited (probably due to watching so much Naruto) The soup was spicy and I loved every bit of it!!
Anyone else have any food recommendations for my next trip to State College?

Fashion at Penn State

Hey guys! I recently went to visit Penn State in State College, PA.

The trees are amazing there. I've never seen such huge, beautiful tress.
While I was visiting I spied some amazing fashion being sported by Penn State students! Like this girl, who was totally rocking yellow pants.
Or this girl. I would wear her outfit any day.
I can't think of words to describe this wardrobe choice...It is perfection!
I couldn't get a good picture of this student, but her mini skirt and boots were totally awesome!!
On friday I'll show you some of the shopping and eating places I went to! For those of you who have ever been visiting in State College, PA...isn't Penn State amazing?

Remembering

There are places in summer that you will never forget. I've done a lot of thinking this summer. I even have been without internet (sort of by choice?) for almost a month now! Yesterday my roommate and I bought cable internet and now I'm at a loss over how to waste time using it. It's like I've forgotten how to spend mindless hours surfing the web. Hahah!
Don't worry, I'm not leaving this web space forever! I have some plans and just need to find time to do them. I'll be back in a week or two and will resume posting regularly, for those who read this little blog in the midst of such a sea of websites.

Do you even wonder if your words matter?

I think, just for the fact of my children being able to see what a silly and creative person their mother was--one day when I am old--that this is worth something. At least, to me.
