Fix that Neckline!

I found this dress awhile ago in the clearance section of Target in the 75% off area. Of course, they only had it in XXL and XS! But for 10$ I thought it was a steal and picked it up! Only thing--the neck is way to large for me, causing the top to slip off my shoulders and reveal all of my undergarments when I bend over. The rest of the dress fit fine--the waist is elastic, and its very loose in the hips.
But I had to fix the neckline. All I did was some very simple sewing on the sleeves to pull it up and give it a more flattering shape.
I like it better with the empire waist and higher neck! To know where to pin, I put the dress on inside out and looked in a mirror, pinning the fabric. I then turned the dress right side out and tried it on to make sure I'd cinched the right areas! Then I turned it inside out again, and sewed along my pin line.
I'm ready for a summer day by the pool anytime! Have you ever altered a dress?

Wow, that's such an easy way to fix! I don't think I would have thought of that!
