Reuben's birthday celebration was today, and we celebrating him turning 10. It was a beautiful balmy summer day and we had a little party for him at our house with carrot cake (his favorite) and sourdough pizza. He invited his friends and had a wonderful time.
I didn't take many pictures between hunting for Esther, fetching things and cooking...I feel like every year its less! But it was such a wonderful day. After the party we went swimming at the local pool and Reuben spent most of the time on the high dive with his friends!
Then we all came home after sun, snacks and swimming and took showers. Chlorine always makes my skin feel weird for 24 hours or so... Esther fell asleep to Wall-E, the movie Reuben picked, while I did the rest of the cleaning up after the party. We all had another round of cake and ice cream!
What a wonderful beautiful day to celebrate Reuben. We ended the day with daddy making stir-fry shrimp and playing Reuben's choice of family game--Upwards. It's unnecessary to say how proud of Reuben I am and how amazing he is...I love you Reuben Alexander and I am so blessed to be your mama. Love you so much! In 10 more years he will be 20 and that sounds unfathomable. He's growing up so fast! He's so smart and funny and he loves jokes, crochet, reading, cooking...not to mention Minecraft and Super Mario.
Thank you Jesus for giving me the gift of Reuben.
