Newlywed Moments

So...if you have been following this blog, you know I've been married...for all of 3 weeks now.

I have two funny stories to share with you today.

For the first one, a picture will suffice.

Yes, that's what I woke up to this morning.

Poor hubby, I guess he doesn't know you are supposed to refill it?

The second story has to do with Walmart. So, I'm newly married. I am not taking the pill. So hubby and I go to buy contraceptives from Walmart...and we are standing on the isle picking what we want. But as we turn to walk away I see my childhood neighbor's grandmother. I used to play with her daughter Stephine B. when I was in grade school. Anyway, she is staring at us. At what we are holding. Hubby shuffles box under his arm, and I say hi, am about to say something regarding our  wedding (because she is turning several shades of condescending red), but she takes off...

She probably thinks I am a terrible horrible sinful sexually active person. I mean, I am a sinful person. But not for enjoying being married...I'm married! Sigh. -_-

I've never been so embarrassed in my life. 

Sailor Outfit

You can't go wrong with stripes! I was wearing skinny jeans under this, but I took them off when we got to FL, because it was 70 degrees...vs 40 in Lynchburg.

For some reason this outfit reminds me of my friend Beth. I could totally picture her wearing it. I think she might wear a red floppy hat...because she has one! I saw that hat in my head when I bought this dress, Beth. 

It is hard to believe my honeymoon is over! At times I still don't feel married. I'm like, I'm married? What? O_o and then my husband pokes me and we both laugh. Being married is wonderful! But it isn't much different then not being married! It's just as fun as being single or dating, perhaps just fun in different ways. I also thought marriage would bring a ton of other responsibilities--but not really. Maybe I wash more dishes? Perhaps the work will come with kids...

Anyone else have any similar feelings about holy matrimony? It's great, but I'm still me. And I'm happy that way.

Wrap Braid

I used this hairstyle on my honeymoon to keep my hair out of my face! The boat was really windy! 

It is really easy to create. From a side part, start a crown braid. I did my crown braid dutch style (braiding under) but any way will suffice. When you reach the other side of your head (3/4 of the way around) braid your remaining hair like a side braid, then twist the whole braid back around your head to lie back on top of your crown braid, and secure with a pin or a clip. I also added a large flower embellishment!

I plan on making a step-by-step tutorial with pictures some time this month. Right now I'm still getting over being sick. Really! I caught some kind of flu-like thing while I was still getting over food poisoning from Mexico.
