Saturday, we had Becky's piano performance. She did so amazing! I am in awe of her. She loves the piano and even though I can't play a note, she's doing amazing. It's all her because I don't play the piano! This makes "teaching" her during the week really hard. I can't sit down and show her what it's supposed to sound like. I can't understand sometimes when she plays it wrong. She really has to do all the work herself.
Anyway, it's Monday now and 8pm and my husband just got off work. What a long day. We had a stay at home recovery day after our busy weekend and I did a lot of cleaning and chores. We also finished reading Becky's free read, All of a Kind Family. I loved the surprise ending and so did the kids. Becky immediately picked out the second book in the series All of a Kind Family Downtown. I can't wait to find out what Ella, Henny, Charlotte, Gertie and Sarah get up to in the next book!
Only four more weeks left for summer break. Counting this week, five. I'm so excited to get back to homeschooling and learning. Today I also did our homeschool paperwork, the notice of intent and proof of progress and mailed it off. I need to find a math curriculum for the kids as we are done with Masterbooks, and I need to check and make sure we don't need a new phonics or handwriting book for each kid. And we need more modeling clay. And I need a new planner.
This week is a relax week, I have declared. I have some cleaning I need to do, think deep-cleaning, and I want to finish my novel about diamonds. The Eustace Diamonds. It's such a good book! I'm in over the moon with the writing and the depth and Anthony Trollope...it's perfection. Then I want to watch the whole BBC series from the 1970s (it's free on Youtube) and see if it lives up to the book.
But today we will start with going to sleep early and hopefully being woken up less by my very adorable toddler.
